July 29, 2017 National New Star Tug-of-war Series (Beijing Station)and 6th Beijing Tug-of-war Finals holds in Beijing Ditan Gymnasium. In total,39 teams ,about 500 athletes take part in this game.
The game is hosted by the social sports guidance center of General Administration of Sport of China, China Tug-of-war Association, Beijing Sports Bureau and Beijing Federation of Trade Unions, undertook by Beijing Social Sports Administration Center, Beijing Sports Association Secretariat and Beijing Staff Sports Service Center, assisted by Ditan Gymnasium, Beijing RUIZHI XIANGYUN Advertising co. LTD. C’estbon, Lihua Fast Food, Australia Dighera Company and other units provide logistical help for this game.

Early in this finals, this game has set up 9 open events in Fangshan, Shunyi, Changping, Daxing, Pinggu, Yizhuang, Yanshan city. About 200 teams come from various agencies, factories and mines, enterprises and institutions, villages and towns, troops, schools of our city take part in the competition in this division. After the selection and recommendation of the relevant units, 38 teams stand out in total, to attend the finalss. Meanwhile, as a division, this game attracts the attention of Quzhou, Juhua city, and other provinces and towns teams.

National New Star Tug-of-war Series has been held 5 times, from the very first Open Group, grow to Male’s Group and Mixed Group. This year 560 KG Group has been added, thus enriches the content and increases the enjoyment of the game. Each team deepens the understanding about tug-of-war through years of training and attending the matches. The overall level of tug-of-war has been improved continuously in the whole city.
The other bright spot of the game is that the organizing committee makes the “TEAM MEDAL” for each team for the first time. Each team member own a medal, the team own a plate. Only if all the medals and the plates fight together, they can become a disk, that represents the cooperation and team building.
Through the fierce competition, Changping Nankou 1th Team, Shunyi Tug-of-War Association Team, Changping Nankou 2th Team respectively obtains the champion of the Males’ Group, Females’ Group and Mixed Group. The top two teams of the Males’ Group will attend the national finalss on behalf of the Beijing area at the end of the year.
The game intends to promote the popularization of tug-of-war in our city, shows the quintessence and charm of tug-of-war, enhances the civil collective concept and honor and the spirit of hard struggle, attract the masses to take part in the tug-of-war activities, thus they can reap the health benefits, enjoy the happiness, feel the well-being. “Implement the strategy of nationwide fitness, achieve the goals of people’s desire for a happy life.”; meanwhile, enrich the item content of nationwide fitness, promote its diversified development, so that set off a worldwide craze, create good social atmosphere for the preparation of 2012 Olympic Winter Games.
