Dai Zhenyong, the secretary and chairman of sports department in Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT), expressed that their team was included by four graduate students and five undergraduates and they were trying to explore a way to spread Tug of War in their school for nowadays students lacks collective spirits. They also hope to create a professional Tug of War team which can encourage students’ participating enthusiasm and they set Tug of War as the first programme in the approaching School Sports Meeting.
Wang Ruixia, director of No. 1 Business Department of China Leisure Sports Administrative Center in Geneary Administration of Sport claimed that nowadays Tug of War owns dual attributes of athletics and groupment. The athletics of Tug of War is one of aspect of the sport but we have to introduce the sport to more people and promote it. Zhou Weizhong, vice Secretary General of Chinese Tug of War Association said that sports competition is like a product. Only when common audiences felt that it is unreachable and have the willing to appreciate, will they be attracted to join the sport directly. The numbers of teams and people show its popularization while the high level of the Tug of War reflects the attribute of athletics.
